2013 Top 10 Worst Websites

Thursday, 14 March 2013

Recently the famous web design and online marketing company GlobalWebFx released the list of top 10 worst websites of 2013. Suprisingly, websites of web design companies like Parkside Technologies, Designs 23 and Arcata Web Design are in this list. Maybe some people would wonder what standards there are to define if a website is a shit. In real life people actually have no idea what the differences are between a good website and a bad one. Ironically many of the bad examples come from the hands of professional web designers...

Below we can see this list of top 10 worst websites, some of them may be the worst websites ever.

1. The Worlds Worst Website Ever

Well you can tell why it is No. 1 from the name of this website. This website must be done by the designer for porpose of showing all kinds of bad design examples in web design. It is the most negative example ever.

2. Parkside Technologies (Web Design)

As you can see it would definitely make sense that this site is in the list. What is funny is that not only this website was made by so called professional web designers, but also do they sell their concept of this design style. The design of this website has so many commanalities with the No. 1 winner.

3. Evangel Cathedral

Getting into the Top 3 in this list, Evangel Cathedral has its own specific reasons. The Flash animations on the site do not even work with mobile devices at all, and when your first come into the page, the music starts automatically and you can barely find the place to shut it down. Of course, it is one of the most crowded websites ever.

4. Arngren.net

Again, this website is honored into Top 10 worst website list, like what it used to be in the every of last 10 years.

5. Ron Oslund’s Home Page

If this website was made in 1995, it could be just so so. But it is 2013 now.

6. Constellation Seven

Due to its terrible background colors, this website comes to the No. 6 of this list. It is impossible to get the information you may need as these colors would fry your eye balls first.

7. Jamil Lin Blog

This blog was also in the list due to its color problem. But I did some search on line and could not find its right URL...

8. Mr. Bottles

Same reasons as No. 7, but this website is actually a little bit better than No. 7.

9. Designs 23

I could not find this website either. Thanks to Scott he gave me the link to it. As what GlobalWebFx mentions, this company is even selling this template to its clients.

10. Arcata Web Design

This is a web design company too.

Personally I think the worst website is 12306.cn, which is the officail website of booking train tickets, made by the Ministry of Railway of China. Its main functions only work in IE and it crashes always. The reason why it is the worst website is not only the shitty performance of the site, but is that it cost RMB 190,000,000, which is over USD 30,000,000!

Comments

Just wanted to let you know that your links on this page point to the wrong websites as referenced by the GlobalWebFx.

The correct links are listed below.

2. Parkside Technologies (Web Designer)

3. Designs23

Thanks for your information Scott. I did not find Design23 so I did not actually put a link on it. For the Parkside link, it seems the site is gone so I will remove it.
